Well a quick trip home and I am now back in Ladner. It seemed like a whirlwind trip. My dad had some health issues so Curt and I went to visit him in Prince George. I did have a lot of fun with Maya on Monday morning. She came over and we played some games. What a sweet girl. Amazing how much her vocabulary has increased in ten short days.
Eli is ofcourse just as sweet as ever. He rolled over at Gramma and Opa's house for the first time.
Tonight we got to attend the dress rehearsal of the opening ceremonies. It was absolutely amazing. There were 50,000+ people there. It was so amazing. Nothing like anything I had ever seen before. So many proud Canadians, all in one group. As it continued on, it was hard to remember that this was the dress rehearsal as opposed to the real thing! It was so so cool. Make sure you watch it!
Tomorrow begins day shift. Should be a whole new ball game!

Awesome!!! Have a great day. I'm excited for you!
ReplyDeleteCool, there was some consternation about th way the national anthem was going to be sung....I'm sure the people that knocked themselves out planning the whole event won't 'colour outside the lines' too much. Glad that you'll be there for the opening. Say hi to as many people as you can when you're down there, people you'd never dream of being in the same space with in your life. If you meet any Lisse/Sassenheimers they're probably related to me somehow...pass on a hello. We'll take care of the whole home front for now, take care, eh
ReplyDeletesounded like a wonderful time! Glad we got to see you, if only for a short time! cant wait for you to come home again!
ReplyDeleteHi Trix
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping this makes it thru..tried many times.
I'm glad you are having a good time and enjoying yourself. Saw previews from the opening ceremony rehearsal and couldn't believe the crowd. Enjoy the next couple of weeks.
Take Care,
Marg
We zullen de wekker zetten om naar de ceremonie te kijken en te zien of je je ook kunnen vinden. De fiets waar jij op reed, was bij ons ook op tv. Er zat eeen schaatser op.
